This is a digital PDF pattern for the Cheongsam / Qipao (Version 1) Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) quilt block only (not the entire quilt).

The download file contains printable foundation paper piecing ("FPP") pattern for ONE Cheongsam block. The finished block measures 11" (width) x 38" (height).

Cheongsam Block Design: This shows the overall arrangement to guide you how to piece the pattern units together to form the Cheongsam block.

Cheongsam Block FPP (A3): Print these PDF files if you have access to printers that can print on A3 papers.

Cheongsam Block FPP (A4): Print these PDF files if you only have access to printers that can print on A4 papers.

Cheongsam Quilt Block (V1) Piecing Sequence & Test Measure: Instructions on piecing sequence and some reference measurements to check that your printout is of correct size.

This quilt block finishes with exactly a quarter inch seam allowance all around. To make the quilt shown in the finished quilt photos, make 12 Cheongsam blocks and add sashing between and around the blocks. You can also make a smaller quilt with less number of blocks e.g. 3 Cheongsam blocks would make a nice wall hanging.

A good command of sewing, quilting and FPP techniques are needed to complete the block.

All patterns are full sized. Be sure to print at 100% scale.

You will need a PDF reader to open the files and a printer to print the templates. Zipped files will require file extractor programs like Winzip ro Winrar. Your computer might already have a built in file extractor program.
